The past few weeks have been a time of growth and positive change. In Jane McGonigal's book Reality is Broken, I was introduced to the concept of "post-traumatic bliss." She cites Tal Ben-Sharar's book Happier which says "[Individuals with post-traumatic bliss] are able to trivialize the trivial, to assume a sense of control, to stop doing things they
do not wish to do, to communicate more openly with families and close friends, and to live entirely in the present rather than in the future or the past."
I've taken this time to rest my mind from the past five months of infertility stuff. I've embraced some new hobbies, challenged myself to do something unusual or different every, and to challenge a lot of previous assumptions I've held my entire life. So if you ask me how I'm doing, I would say I'm doing fine (and that's the honest truth).
