“Student: “Can I cite the book from here [the online catalog] or do I have to actually go get the book?”
Me: “What do you think?”
Student: [short pause] “Aw, that’s what I thought. I really don’t want to go get it.”
Me: “Well, I’m sorry, but that’s really not doing research.”
