Buffy and Bed Rest

All this week, I've been doing progesterone injections twice a day.  When we were unpacking our meds a few months ago and I saw the 18 gauge needles, I about passed out. Y'all, these things are huge:
Turns out, I just use them to draw up the oil and then switch it to a smaller needle.  I inject in the back of my hip and let me just say for the past few days it feels like I've been punched in the butt. Last time I was on progesterone I cried, like, on the hour, but I've felt great this time around. The only time I've cried so far this week was when I watched this today:

"Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion." -Steel Magnolias

So this Friday, we go to Chattanooga for the embryo transfer. It's a pretty easy procedure, and we'll be headed home in the afternoon. From there, I have to have 72 hours of bed rest.  As a Kramer, I can lounge and laze with the best of them, but even when I'm sick, I still try to get up and do things to make the most of my time.

So if you want, feel free to get in touch.  I will be reading and watching a lot of Buffy at the request of my sister and Mr. Cunningham (the one-and-only martial artist/government teacher at Carter).  I will desire some occasional human interaction other than my devoted manslave, Kevin. I'm also having an Oscar party on Sunday night, so if you're in town, stop by. By Monday afternoon, I'll be back to my old self.

After this weekend, I'm going to go radio silent. If we do get pregnant, I want to have the time to just enjoy the secret among very close family. If we don't get pregnant, I will need time to grieve. However, those of you who know me even a little know that you can read my emotions like a book. But there won't be any official announcements for a while. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

My favorite line of this post was "my manslave Kevin." Perfect. Lots and lots of prayers coming for here. Don't forget to put the fertility gods under your mattress. :)
